The Best Vegan Items at Thrive Market and the Best Vegetarian Items at Thrive Market…
Are you a Vegan or Vegetarian and considering Thrive Market for your household items like groceries, supplements, body care etc? I’ve been a Thrive Market member for around 4-5 years and can tell you all about the experience. I’ve only been a Pescatarian for 6 months, but Thrive Market has been essential in this transition. I live in Berkeley, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it's not hard to find grocers that accommodate just about any dietary requirement and preference, but shopping at Whole Foods prices is costly, especially when paying that Bay Area rent/mortgage.
Even before delving into my Pescatarian / Vegetarian adventure, I’ve leaned towards high quality foods and I try to eat less gluten, and even though I do eat dairy (I just can’t cut it out) I eat half as much dairy as the average person. I’ve always searched for the Thrive Market vegan items and vegetarian snacks.
My Mom has health concerns including food allergies, Crohn’s Disease, IBD, Lupus, Lyme, Sjogren’s…Yes, it’s a lot to manage. She’s allergic to wheat and eggs and most nuts. Finding high quality foods is essential to her health. I’ve got my Mom shopping at Thrive Market as well. She’s been with them for a couple years and lives in Syracuse, NY most of the time and part time in Key West, FL. Thrive Market delivers to both locations, although it does take a couple extra days to get down to the Florida Keys and in the heat of Summer, I would only recommend ordering pantry goods. When I visit my mom in either location, I’ll ship a box with Thrive Market vegan items and vegetarian foods and snacks before I arrive. Those locations aren’t the best for having grocers that accommodate dietary needs. It’s limited.
One thing I really like about Thrive Market is that I have the ability to shop their sales on my favorite items, same as a grocery story, but I don’t have to leave my couch to do the shopping. It’s worth noting that to get free shipping, pantry or dry goods orders must meet a $49 minimum and frozen goods must meet a minimum of $130. There’s no fresh produce or fridge goods, so you won’t be able to get all your food from Thrive Market, but the average American gets their household groceries from six places. I get about 30% from Thrive Market. The rest is Costco, Imperfect Foods, Hungryroot, Berkeley Bowl.
I occasionally shop at Target, Safeway, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe’s but only when I’m on a specific diet or it’s convenient. I wouldn’t count them in my regular go-to list. I also place a Martie order when they have good items. FYI - I also highly recommend Imperfect Foods. If you’re Vegan, Vegetarian, Pescatarian, Gluten Free, or simply like high quality foods AND you hate going to a grocery store, you can avoid the store with Imperfect Foods and Thrive Market together.
In this post, I’m listing some of my favorite Thrive Market vegan items and vegetarian foods, home and health products, and supplements. I won’t be listing staples like rice, flour, beans etc as those are a given. Yes, Thrive Market has all the good brands like King Arthur and Bob’s Red Mill, plus their own Thrive Market brands at budget pricing. If you care about eating well and quality foods with limited plastic packaging, Thrive Market may be worth considering for your vegan items and vegetarian items.
I’m listing the prices I’ve paid recently for the items, to provide an example of how great the pricing is at Thrive Market. I’m only listing pantry items today, although the Thrive Market vegan items and vegetarian items that would be in the “frozen isle” are pretty fantastic and include brands like: Jack & Annie’s, Beyond Meat, Dr. Praeger’s, Hilary’s, Daring, Just Egg, Oatly, etc.

It would take me forever to list all the vegan items / vegetarian items that I’ve shopped multiple times or have loved from Thrive Market. This list is to price compare for those that know an item or two, and for those that are new to shopping at Thrive Market and would like some recommendations on items to try. Also, you don’t need to be a Vegan, Vegetarian, or Pescatarian to enjoy these goodies. I enjoyed a lot of these as I slowly transitioned to not eating meat. Therefore, I know what a lot of these taste like from the palate of a meat-eater. It’s better to do a lot of small changes than to never do any.
