Blueland Review: Can Blueland Natural Cleaning Products Get You in the Candle Lighting Mood?
Are you exploring Blueland natural cleaning products, and curious how they stand up against other natural products, or even the harsh stuff? Between online retailers and in-store options, there are so many house cleaning products to close from. Ten to fifteen years ago, companies like Method and Seventh Generation were groundbreaking trailblazers in the natural cleaning product space. Back then, I would dabble and wonder “do these products really work as well as the good ol’ stuff?” After many years of exploring all there is out there, I can confidently say “yes, there really are natural cleaning products that work just as well, without harming the environment or the humans and pets in your home.”
Every Sunday I clean my home and I have one major goal in mind. Can I get the house to feel worthy of lighting candles? Candles and clutter just do not mix. Today, I’m reviewing the Blueland natural line of Eco-Friendly cleaning products (laundry detergent, dish soap, dish detergent, bathroom cleaner, multi-surface cleaner, and glass and mirror cleaner) as well as their foaming hand soap from the Clean Suite Kit. I’ve been using Blueland natural cleaning products for a few years now, as I’m quite the natural cleaning product enthusiast. I’ve have a full blog review with a detailed overviews of products from Blueland, Cleancult, Honest, Grove, Thrive, Method, Dropps etc.
If you’re new to natural cleaning products, let’s begin by overcoming the one major bias we all must overcome in order to make the switch. One does not need to burn their finger-tips off with chemicals in order to disinfect or to clean. If you can rob a bank and get away with it after cleaning your home, you’re using the wrong stuff. For today’s mission, no robbing banks. Let’s just see if we can get to a candle lighting Sunday night.
When you’re ready to clean, make sure you’ve prepped 30 minutes prior as it takes a little time for the cleaning tablets to dissolve into the water. I got super amped to clean the first time, put some Dua Lipa on my Sonos system, and then had to wait. The bottles arrive empty with little cleaning tablets. Fill the Blueland bottles up with water, match the corresponding Blueland cleaning tablet to the bottles, drop in and go do some yoga or meditate. In 20-30 minutes, you’re ready to get your clean on. It’s the same process for the foaming hand-soap as well. Side note, the smells are fantastic, but somehow correspond appropriately for a bathroom, glass and multi-surface cleaner. Appropriate, yet inoffensive and lovely.
Why does Blueland require you to add water, vs shipping the full solution? Shipping water or heavy weight is very hard on CO2 emissions, especially when water flows right out of the faucet in our homes.
The Blueland Reveal
The first of the Blueland natural cleaning products I’m showcasing today is the Blueland Glass & Mirror Cleaner, which is the blue bottle. Let’s see if I can reveal my all-time shower favorites!
Viola! This Blueland Glass Cleaner cuts right through the soap scum, and that’s quite hard to do. It’s so clean you can barely tell it’s glass! If you doubt, there’s a reflection in the right corner. ;)
Onto our next product… The Blueland Bathroom Cleaner. Calling all makeup wearers! Do you know that messy lip of the counter from all that mineral makeup power, foundation dripps, dry shampoo, strings of hair etc? Let’s put Blueland natural cleaning products to the ultimate test.
List of my favorite shower items (both shown and not):
Kristin Ess The One Purple Shampoo & Conditioner for blonde or highlighted hair (shown in pic)
Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser for Sensitive, Combination to Oily Skin (shown in pic)
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Conditioner (shown in pic)
Briogeo Co-Wash Conditioner Hair Wash

Blueland Body Wash - Powder to Gel
Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash (shown in pic)
OSEA Salt of the Earth Body Scrub (shown in pic)
PanOxyl Antimicrobial Acne Creamy Wash
Kate Somerville Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
Listerine Total Care: Mouthwash in the shower is an easy place to use it, and it keeps your shower foot fungus free!
As you can see, I’m pretty happy with the results. Now, if only Blueland made shampoo and soap for the hot-mess cleaning the house does to one-self…. Oh wait, if you missed it in my shower list, Blueland Body Wash and Blueland Facial Cleanser are new as of 2022!
Next, the dishes and the laundry. Although I’ve used all these products before (with the exception of the dish soap and foaming hand soap), the dish detergent is a product I’ve been using for a couple of years. I can honestly say that it cleans our dishes very well. We do need to add a natural version of JetDry that Grove sells to get the coffee stains out of our mugs, but that’s it.
As for laundry, I was one of those Tide only people for-e-ver. About 4 years ago, I finally stopped being wishy-washy (see what i did there?) and I made the switch to natural laundry detergent. I admit, I haven’t been brand loyal. There are a few brands that do the job well. Considering I was a Tide gal, it’s saying a lot that I haven’t looked back. Blueland laundry tabs are among the products that I rotate, depending on when I have a subscription order coming for cleaning solutions (which I am Blueland loyal to).
Let’s talk about the dish soap. It’s a powder dish soap! Yes, you read that right. You wet your sponge, pour some on from the silicon container, lather and start scrubbing. At first, I was immediately like “nope”. Once I opened up my mind a little, I realized that it foams better than any other natural dish soap I’ve used before. Reporting back after 6 months and we’ve refilled this a few times and prefer the Blueland Powder Dish Soap. To clarify, this is the hand-washing dish soap.
How about that Blueland Foaming Hand Soap? It smells lovely. The glass container is sleek. It foams well. I feel clean. I also really like that the design is clear and the soap is clear. I have a specific design taste, which I’m sure a lot of us do, and the design can fit into almost any decor. I haven’t ever been committed to one hand soap brand before. I think that’s the biggest switch for me. To foam or not to foam? That is the question. Reporting back 6 months later and I just purchased the Blueland Fall scents. I guess I foam now.

The Blueland dishwasher detergent tabs clean dishes well and remove all basic food debris (with one exception - in the cons)
The Blueland cleaning solutions and the hand soap all smell remarkably amazing, and appropriate for what they are
The Blueland Glass & Mirror Cleaner Cleans just as well as Windex!
The Blueland Multi-Surface Cleaner cleans grease, stoves and kitchen countertops with ease
The Blueland Bathroom Cleaner cleans makeup gunk better than a Neutrogena Makeup Wipe after a Saturday Night out
The Blueland Powder Dish Soap foams better than any other natural dish soap I’ve ever used
Blueland Cons List
Adding water to the products does take a little planning in advance of cleaning the first time
Foaming hand-soap isn’t for everyone
The dishwasher detergent tabs also require a natural JetDry like substance to remove things like coffee stains from mugs etc
It feels like the bottles run down quicker than other cleaning products
The powder dish soap takes some getting used to, and it’s running down faster than liquid dish soap
There are times you want to soak dishes in soap, and the powder dish soap isn’t as good for that
Final Thoughts on Blueland Natural Cleaning Products
I’ve loved Blueland products for a few years now. There are some that I’m loyal to like the dishwasher tabs and the cleaning solutions. There are others that I rotate with other brands like the laundry detergent. Some products are new to me such as the foaming hand soap and the dish soap. I must admit, those are the two that I’m personally taking a little time with, but I see the pros in both. The real question is, did Blueland help me get in a candle lighting mood? Yes, I was lit from within, so the candles were too. A bottle of my favorite pinot noir was opened. I even felt inspired to cook a beautiful dinner. Who knew a little cleaning spray could be my self-love potion number CO2.
