Are you on the Kombucha craze and looking for a Revive Kombucha Review? I gotcha! I joined the kombucha craze a little late. To put it simply, I heard about this kombucha thing a few years back, tried one, and decided it wasn’t for me. That was a poor mistake on my part. Kombucha isn’t like Pepsi and CokeCola, or even Pepsi and Dr. Pepper or Sprite. The variations are much broader than that. It’s much more like Coke and Spindrift or La Croix. There’s just too much of a difference between different brands and flavors to glob them all together as just Kombucha.
What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented tea with probiotic properties. It’s often carbonated, with the carbonation both added and natural, depending on the type. Other than that, the herbs, fruits, veggies, teas etc are all different in each flavor and brand.
Is Revive Kombucha Low Sugar?
One other major benefit I’ve noticed as a consistency with most Kombucha teas is the effect of some sugar feeling and tasting much richer. One of my favorite kombucha teas is a ginger pineapple flavor with 20 oz, and the bottle is 40 calories. It tastes like a ginger beer rich in sugar, but it’s not. Because of this deceptive effect, there’s a benefit beyond the probiotic one…. An advantage to take something with less sugar and make an imitation of something that seemingly has more sugar typically… aka… cola!
Does Revive Kombucha taste like Cola or Coke? What does Revive Hibiscus Refresher taste like?
My first experience with Revive Kombucha was with the Revive Hibiscus Refresher. I wasn’t even aware of the intention by Revive to imitate a Cola, and that Revive sold a Cola Kombucha bottle at that time. My first sip, I thought to myself “holy moly, this kombucha tastes like a cola!”
I’m typically the type of person that prefers Coke to Pepsi, and yes, I know the difference. I even have favorite bottled waters. I’m also into wine and can smell random things all the way across the house. My sense of taste and smell is ridiculous! I highlight this because I want to state that if you’re this type of person, Revive Kombucha may not be your complete replacement for cola and soda. It’s not mine. I love a cold Mexican Coke in the glass bottle with some tacos. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area after all.... But, you may be able to keep that sugar monster hidden and let it loose for the occasional splurge.
Does Revive Kombucha have probiotics? Is it a gut-healthy drink?
I’m also going to note that I suffer from IBS and keeping a healthy gut bacteria will be a constant effort for life for me. I took a round of antibiotics in 2012 that forever changed my gut flora and I’ve never fully recovered. I’ve had to take antibiotics to kill overgrowth of bacteria from taking those antibiotics in 2012. Yes, I’m aware of how strange that is, and I’m very reluctant to take antibiotics unless they’re needed now. Trading soda (even diet soda) for something with probiotic benefits is really helpful for my lifestyle and health needs. It’s quite spendy when you think of it like the cost of a soda, but all that corn syrup, aspartame and coloring isn’t good for us. It’s cheap for a reason.

How do I enjoy Revive Kombucha?
Revive Kombucha has more than the cola inspired flavors too. As a gauge, the more fruity flavors come in the cans, and the cola inspired flavors come in glass bottles. I just love the experience of drinking a root beer out of a cold bottle. I’ll even pop it in the freezer for 10 minutes to get those ice-flakes in the bottle… yum! If you do this, don’t forget about it!
Does Revive Kombucha deliver the bottles in a cooler on ice?
The can version can be stored on the shelf, but the glass bottles must always be kept cold. They’ll be delivered cold and should be kept that way.
Does Revive Kombucha use natural flavors?
I gotta be real honest here… Who knew hibiscus had such a flavor? Am I late to that game too? The Revive Hibiscus Refresher Kombucha also has some added natural flavors like vanilla and almond extract, to add to the cola feel. This would cause some allergens for some though.
How carbonated is Revive Kombucha?
How is the carbonation level with Revive Kombucha? It’s very similar to a soda or cola. Not as much as sparkling water or La Croix. It felt very comparable to a typical root beer. Less than a Coke, but quite a bit.
How sweet is Revive Kombucha?
How about the sugar level? Considering a can of Coke has 44g of sugar, the Revive Hibiscus Refresher Kombucha has 12 grams per bottle. It felt sweet, but it didn’t leave that residue or make my teeth feel chalky against each other like Coke does. It felt perfect!
Sometimes you want more than a sparkling water too, but you just don’t want 44g of sugar. Frankly, a lot of cakes and desserts don’t even have the amount of sugar that a can of Coke does. Getting that feeling of having a soda while helping my gut and satisfying that soda feeling and sweet tooth… Revive Kombucha is a sure bet for all the above reasons!
