CBD & Hemp Infused Sparking Water DayTrip Review
CBD and Hemp infused sparkling water? Is this a thing? My first experience with DayTrip beverages was when I was at the Hoodoo Ski Lodge in Oregon. I was visiting family who wanted to ski, and I was cool just hanging out in my Uggs around the lodge sipping wine from a can, and hydrating with some canned sparking water.
When I went to the fridge they had in the Hoodoo bar area to grab a sparking water, I realized it was CBD infused. I was actually more intrigued now. I’d never had a CBD drink or CBD water before.
I told my Stepmom and we grabbed two so we could try two flavors. The Cherry DayTrip CBD infused drink, and the Tangerine DayTrip CBD infused drink.
The flavors of both CBD sparkling waters were honestly better than most regular sparkling sodas, and I admit that I did feel the calming effects quite fast. I learned from my alcohol training back in the day when I bartended that carbonation gets things to your bloodstream quicker… Champagne, drinks with soda water or coke etc… It made sense to me that I felt the CBD quickly.
For those new to CBD, it’s a natural chemical found in cannabis similar to THC, except THC makes you high and CBD does not. CBD is used for anxiety, focus, and for mental clarity. It’s been used widely for migraines and seizure patients for a while.
To be clear, the first batch I ordered said “CBD Infused”, and the next said “Hemp Infused.” I’m not sure if there’s some legal or marketing thing going on, but I feel the effects that CBD give me. This is why I reference is as both CBD and Hemp infused sparkling water.
Also, CBD can be shipped within the US. Because it has such a low trace amount of THC that’s below 1%, it’s not subject to the federal laws on marijuana. View the FDA page on the laws here.
CBD is viewed like Hemp; Not really considered the cannabis that gets people high or stoned. No judgements from me on that front. I just want to be clear for those who have concerns on that front.
I struggle with depression, anxiety, and migraines. I take medication for all three and I’m trying to find ways to remove some western meds from my life. I’ve discovered CBD helps.
If I were to list only one negative experience with DayTrip, it would be that it can leave a little oil film in your mouth. Kinda like when you do an olive oil tasting or something. Not bad, and it doesn’t taste like cannabis at all. Just a little film that goes away after a few minutes.
Cannabis is fat-soluble, so there has to be a touch of oil in the drink for it to have CBD in it. Also, the drink has 5 calories from fat. Good for any diet. No sugar or artificial sweeteners which I love. The flavors they choose are good for not missing sweetness, and they almost have a deceptive sweetness to them… Just a subtle amount. Not sugary at all.
When I got home from the Hoodoo trip, I ordered two cases of DayTrip CBD Infused Sparkling Drinks. I also leaned that they’re from Berkeley, where I live.
If you’re looking for something refreshing since a lot of us are staying home this Summer, I highly recommend DayTrip Hemp and CBD infused sparking waters. I’m sure they will go well with a little vodka, gin, and a lemon/lime.
