When covid started, like a lot of others, I struggled with mood, depression and anxiety. Scrolling through Instagram, I saw the Four Sigmatic Adaptogen Blend. I get mine from Costco and it’s the Youtheory Ashwagandha, but Amazon has many options too.
Ashwagandha, one of the more popular and better known adaptogens, contains chemical compounds called alkaloids. This magical plant acts on the endocrine system by encouraging hormone balance.
Let’s now get to that comparison of the adaptogen powders. One thing that I think is very cool is that both of these adaptogen powder companies are from Venice, CA. I can imagine there must be something special in the coffee down there as everything I’ve ever seen of Venice is happy people with tans roller skating down sidewalks. They quite literally put something in their coffee every morning, and apparently, it’s mushrooms!

Final Thoughts on Moon Juice vs Four Sigmatic Adaptogen Powders
I enjoyed both the Moon Juice Spirit Dust for mood and Four Sigmatic Adaptogen Blend, but I personally buy Four Sigmatic more. There are a few reasons for this:
The mild flavor of Four Sigmatic is more complementary to my morning drinks that I’m already having. It’s easier to add this adaptogen powder to what I’m already doing. The Moon Juice Spirit Dust is more of a drink on its own.
The price is better with Four Sigmatic, especially when cutting in half and adding supplements like The Nue Co Mood and Youtheory Ashwagandha, which you can’t really do with the Moon Juice Spirit Dust.
I like good packaging, but I often wonder where the balance is between packaging and what I’m spending on it vs spending on the product. I feel like Four Sigmatic has nice packaging, but it’s not so fancy that I don’t want to even recycle the bottle when I’m done because I know it’s nice. Maybe that’s just me? IDK.
What about The Nue Co Mood Supplements?
With 4.5 of 5 stars on their website, The Nue Co Mood Supplements may be a better alternative to an adaptogen powder for some people. If you would rather take a pill and enjoy your coffee as is, I get it! My husband is a high-end coffee guy and he’s very specific about his coffee. Maybe a supplement is better for your natural mood management routine than an adaptogen powder.
