SPC - St. Petersburg College Resume Assistance + Master Your Resume Course
If you’re a St. Petersburg College student, the Resume and Interview Assistance Center offers resume writing resources under MyCourses for current St. Petersburg College undergraduate students (both Associate’s and Bachelor's degree students). If you’re looking for a tuition-included resume writing service, this is a wonderful resource that’s included to SPC students of all campuses.
In addition to the St. Petersburg College’s Resume and Interview Assistance Center’s resume writing assistance, you may want to expand your resume writing and editing skills and expertise to gain a competitive advantage. If you’re looking for additional resume writing support, the Master Your Resume; Recent College Grads course is only $27 and created by a Google and Microsoft Recruiter (and an SPC graduate!!!). We recommend using this resume writing course in addition to your free SPC resources. Outlined below is how to best incorporate both the resume writing course, and St. Petersburg College’s Resume and Interview Assistance Center’s resume writing offerings. Please note, The Bossy Sauce, Master Your Craft, and Kristen Diane McDonald are not affiliated in any way with SPC / St. Petersburg College.
Why should you be interested in this resume writing course?
Candidly, colleges and universities aren’t teaching the right resume writing skills to students. Counselors, advisors, teachers, TA’s all have the best of intentions and want to set students up for success in the workforce. However, most have never worked as Recruiters. If they have, it was likely for a short time, and perhaps a long time ago.
Recruitment is so fast changing that in January of 2022, the workforce was experiencing “The Great Resignation” where employees had the upper hand with employment. By May, 2022, everything changed and the tech layoffs changed the tech market and anything that supported tech. That included marketing, product, project/program management, business operations, sales and business development of tech, HR, recruitment, account management etc. Tech also includes MarTech, MedTech, FinTech. In short, a lot touches tech and in 5 months, the job market changed drastically. Colleges and universities can’t keep up with this along with their main job of educating humans.
Colleges teach job hunting as researchers and not as practitioners (Recruiter, Interviewer, Hiring Team). Often, college resource centers are full of useful information, but they may have a few outdated tips as content is rarely made a priority to update.
Universities and Colleges are sending students out into the workforce with the wrong types of resumes all the time, and lost time is lost money and lost confidence. $27 is a small investment to get it right, or to at least gain another perspective from an HR, Recruitment and Coaching practitioner.
Our course walks you through each lesson and guides you through each step of the process. There should be little to no research needed on your end, or sifting through information to find what you need. We’ll guide you through the experience, the same way you’ve been taking courses at St. Petersburg College, condensed down to 95 minutes and 14 lessons.
